DEMOCRATS of COMAL COUNTY
It’s a fact that we have made some real gains in Comal County. We got out the
vote! Sandy Morales won re-election as Constable in Precinct 3. Ramon Chapa, Jr.
came very close to winning as Precinct 3 County Commissioner. Larry Horton did
very well against a stacked deck in his unsuccessful race for County
Commissioner in a very Republican Precinct 1, and Daniel Boone received a higher
percentage of the votes than either Obama or Noriega, but not enough to win his
4-county race for State Representative.
This year, we were fortunate in generating enough revenue to make some
significant contributions to our local candidates. DoCC Membership and our
contact list have more than doubled in the past year, thanks, in large part, to
our own efforts—with a little help from our fellow Texan, George W. Bush.
Working together, we can look forward to greater gains, and even significant
victories, in 2010 and 2012. We ask you to consider how you can help turn Comal
County Blue. It’ll take work, and it’ll take money. It depends on you, however
you choose to participate.
Please take the time to join the DoCC, or if you are already a member, pay your
2009 dues. Then, make a commitment, and sign up as a Key Member. For as little
as $10 a month, you can help build a War Chest for the next election. The
greater the commitment, the better our chances of success. We don’t expect you
to give ‘til it hurts, but a little bit of discomfort is OK! You can do all
these things easily from our Membership page using
the "Pay" and "Subscribe" buttons.
We can, and we must, elect Democrats to public office in the coming years. Join
us on our journey to 2010 and the all-important state and local elections. Keep
hope alive, with your support of the Democrats of Comal County.
Together, we can make it happen!
